Share document templates
You can share workbook and report templates with other users and teams in your organization for quick and consistent reuse.
This document covers how to share existing templates with other users in your organization. For more information on cross-org template sharing, or on creating and editing templates, see Share and accept cross-org document templates and Create and edit document templates.
User requirements
The ability to share workbook and report templates requires the following:
- You must be assigned an account type with the Share documents permission enabled.
- You must be the template owner or be granted Can edit access to the template. Templates made by Sigma are already shared with anyone who can access templates in your organization.
Share a template
To share a template that you own or can edit:

Go to Home > Templates.

Locate your desired template, and select the name of the template to open it.

From the template, open the document menu.

Select Share.

Search for and select the users or teams you want to share the template with.

Under Permission, select your desired Permission:
- Can use: Allows the user to view the template and create new workbooks and reports from the template.
- Can edit: Allows the user to edit and share the template, in addition to all Can use permissions.

(Optional) Include a message to send with the invitation.

(Optional) Select the Send email checkbox to send an email notification to the users or teams you shared the template with.

Click Share.
